RESTON, VA - XO Communications, a leading provider of 21st century communications for businesses and communications service providers, today announced that it has received a 2007 Telephony Innovation Award for XO Software on Demand, its suite of on-demand software applications that help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) increase productivity and improve data security while managing IT infrastructure costs more affordably. XO received the Telephony Innovation Award for the category of Innovative Service for SMBs.

The Telephony Innovation Awards recognize service providers who have developed unique or first-to-market offerings that either utilize technology or address customers’ needs in a new way. The innovation can come in almost any form – design, delivery, pricing, bundling, packaging or customer service. XO Communications partnered with Jamcracker, the on-demand services company, to enable the delivery of Software as a Service (SaaS) and offer SMBs industry-leading business-class software applications, including collaboration, mobility, security and backup and recovery services from leading vendors such as Microsoft, McAfee and Research in Motion – all for a low monthly fee.

“This award is a testament to XO’s leadership in developing innovative service bundles that give small and medium-sized businesses access to affordable, enterprise-level communications and IT applications,” said Charlie Cary, vice president of small business services at XO Communications.

XO Software on Demand is available to existing XO customers and offers individual hosted applications to support specific needs and hosted services bundles, including:
• Communicate: Microsoft® Exchange, Mobile Messaging (BlackBerry®, GoodLink™), Remote Access, Microsoft SharePoint®
• Secure: McAfee® Total Protection for Small Business, Content Filtering
