SIPTrunks.org, the leading carrier agnostic SIP trunking company, today has announced the launch of a new hosted PBX solution to meet the growing demand of SMB’s wanting to transition from the old PSTN network to a VoIP enabled solution. To celebrate this new launch they also announced to offer free IP Phones for customers that enter into a three year agreement.

SIP trunks are basically a Voice over IP based solution that can replace local phone services as POTS lines and PRI’s. Rather than making use of traditional circuits from the local phone company, with SIP trunks, telephone calls will be received and placed via the internet. SIP trunking can considerably reduce a corporation’s telecom expense and can be either bundled with for example a T1 line, or a business can use their existing bandwidth and order SIP trunks from a SIP trunking provider.

As SIP trunks are basically run over the internet, it much simpler and quicker to order additional trunks (phone lines). No additional physical circuits need to be installed. Because SIP trunks can run on a business’ existing Ethernet WAN, it is also easier to maintain. No longer is there a need to have both telephone and computer network wiring on premise. This makes it much easier to manage.

To use SIP trunking, a business does need either SIP enabled standalone phones, or a IP PBX telephone system. There are some SIP Carriers though that offers an ATA (an adaptor that converts SIP to an analog telephone signal). With an ATA it’s possible to benefit from the cheaper per minute costs VoIP offers and still continue to use their present analog telephone system. There are SIP trunking providers who provide sophisticated features that normally are only present in a PBX telephone system.

What differentiates SIPTrunks.org ‘s latest offering from the many competitors in the field, is that they allow customers to use their own bandwidth. And, as announced today, the free IP phones can make it a good business decision to finally transition from PSTN to VoIP. According to SipTrunks, their included free local and long distance is very popular in the SMB arena. Customer’s just want to know what their cost at the end of the month are going to be.
