FCC Deadlines – FCC Form 499-Q

The information below represents a non-exhaustive list of FCC regulatory assessment and reporting requirements coming due May 1st through June 30th, 2009. The filing deadlines generally apply to diverse types of service providers, including interexchange or long distance telecommunications service providers, prepaid calling card providers, wireless providers and MVNOs, as well as other types of providers. If your company holds an FCC 214 authorization or files FCC Forms 499, chances are that one or more of the requirements covered in this Alert may apply to your company. FCC InterCall Ruling – impacting conference calling

On June 30, 2008, the FCC released an order (“InterCall Order”) rejecting InterCall, Inc.’s (“InterCall’s”) appeal of a determination by the Universal Service Administrative Company (“USAC”) that the company’s voice conferencing services were “telecommunications services” subject to Universal Service Fund (“USF”) contributions. Last week, the FCC requested public comment on petitions for reconsideration of this determination filed by Global Conference Partners, A+ Conferencing Ltd., Free Conferencing Corporation, and the Conference Group.
